temporary lodging offered through digital platforms such as\nAirbnb, regulate the vacation rental market\nand mitigate unfair competition within the\ntraditional hotel industry, on October 3,\n2024, Mexico City\u2019s Government issued a\ndecree by which several provisions of the\nTourism Law of Mexico City, the Housing\nLaw for Mexico City, and the Law for the\nIntegral Reconstruction of Mexico City,\nwere amended (the \u201cDecree\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The Decree includes several limitations\nand a new regulatory framework for\ntemporary tourist lodging, establishing a\nmaximum occupancy limit for lodging units\nregistered in digital platforms of 50% per\nyear, providing that in case of exceeding\nsuch percentage, their registration in the\nHosts Registry (Padr\u00f3n de Anfitriones) may\nnot be renewed, being able to register\nagain one year after the denial date.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, it is included that, in case of\noffering more than 3 properties per host or\nfor longer periods, the provisions of the\nLaw of Commercial Establishments must\nbe followed, including, among other\nthings, the registration of the commercial\nestablishment code and the operation\nnotice.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7686d29 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7686d29\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>It is important to note that, in accordance\nwith the decree published on April 4,\n2024, by which the Tourism Law was\namended, several obligations were\nestablished for the owners or possessors\nof properties that offer temporary tourist\nlodging in Mexico City, as well as for the\ndigital platforms offering these services.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4ca584f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4ca584f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Such reform included, among other things,\nthe implementation of the Hosts Registry\nand the Digital Platforms Registry, in the\nfirst one the Hosts must register and\ncomply, among other things, with the\nfollowing requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Register the properties offered to\ntourists<\/li>\n<li>Provide clear and detailed information\non the characteristics and prices of the\nproperty being offered<\/li>\n<li>Keep an updated record of the\noccupancy of their properties<\/li>\n<li>Provide every six months a detailed\nreport of such registry to the Secretary\nof Tourism of Mexico City<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3ede9df elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3ede9df\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On the other hand, it was established that\nthe technological platforms must register\nin the Digital Platforms Registry, and\ncomply, among other things, with the\nfollowing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep their registration updated,\nrenewing it every two years<\/li>\n<li>Request from the hosts the registration\ncertificate and folio granted by the\nSecretary of Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Provide the Secretary of Truism, every\nsix months, with a detailed report of\nthe properties occupancy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8407d8a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8407d8a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Finally, by means of the Decree, the\nHousing Law and the Law for the Integral\nReconstruction of Mexico City were also\namended to prohibit the use of social and\npopular properties and reconstruction\nhousing programs for temporary tourist\nlodging.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e6a94c5 elementor-align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-raven-button\"
